We are an offshoot of Petite Model Net, and basically saw a gap in our industry which should not have been there. Photographers have banner exchange systems, I suspect most markets do, but we didn't. Totally Unfair!

If a client is looking for a model they will have set goals in mind, if they find your web site, think you are the one then they may look no further, however if you are not suitable for some reason they will continue their search. displaying competitors banners will really make no difference to your potential revenue.

But what if your banner is displayed on another unsuitable candidate's web site and you are just what they are looking for, well there is no need to go any further. And the more it is displayed on multiple sites , the more chance to increase revenue.

Google and many other search engines, rank your site by the number of link backs (links to yours from other sites) it makes your site look important. each time their crawler hits a site, your link may or not be on it at that time, however the more displays you have the more chance there is, and thus it grows expotentially.

We keep a top performer list on this site as well as display ads from those not quite in the top performers, which again are crawled by the search engines and add to your prominence.

Banner exchange by itself will not necessarily increase your revenue, "Banner Blindness" has become common, the real trick of this is increasing your search engine ranking, which is now where most business is generated.
