SEO (search engine optimization) a few simple tips

Use the <h1></h1> tag , I know it is fashionable to have fancy banners but SE (search engines) are dumb, they like old fashion things, and make sure that you have your main keywords in the H1 tag.

Do not be tempted to fill your page with hidden text or links (same color as the background) SE are not that dumb and you get penalized if not banned totally.

Do not over kill your key words within the text, try to keep the weighting to less than 10%. you can get penalized.

Try to keep scripts (java script, css etc). in separate files, They all count as text and lessen your actually text significance.

Use key words wisely and try to emphasize them in the text , with underline, bold or italics.

Use key words in your site description.

Try and keep text to about sensible length on your front page, SE have a prefered maximum.
